How To Keep Cool If Your Air Conditioning Breaks

How To Keep Cool If Your Air Conditioning Breaks

When it comes to summer it is one of the best features to have in a car to keep cool, but if it stops working you find yourself hot and uncomfortable, even more so when you are a driver.

If it decides to fail on you, finding the time and money to repair it may be difficult so here are some tips;

Keep It Away From The Sun

As you become a more experienced driver you start to remember to keep it out of the sun and not make it in to a sauna.

Covers and Sunshades

These can help cover the vital things in the sun, especially those windows which magnify the heat and trapping it inside.

Tinted Windows

Specially designed glass and tints are designed to let light through, but reflect the heat out, keeping the car cooler. Being tinted however has its issues and there are legal requirements to adhere to. So darker the tint does not vastly impact the heat reduction.

Properly Inflated Tyres

As well as properly inflated tyres can improve your fuel efficient, it can also alter how much heat is transferred in to the car through its contact with the ground. This also covers safety points with properly inflated tyres so ensure they are the right pressure for use.

Check Your Air Conditioning System

To keep your system running correctly, you should have it on once a week at least, this stops the build up of fungus and bacteria. If possible get yourself in to a garage for a seasonal check before it gets to summer.
